Scouts Install Mile Marker Signs Along Atchafalaya Basin Wilderness Bike Trail

On January 11, 3 Scout Leaders and 7 Boy Scouts set out to put mile markers along the Atchafalaya Basin Wilderness Bike Trail.
Troop 405 (based out of Cathedral Carmel), led by Troop Leader Harold Schoeffler, in support of Boy Scout Blake Sonnier’s Eagle Scout Project pitched in to install the signs.  56 signs were erected along the Atchafalaya Basin Wilderness Bike Trail, from Henderson to Calumet.

The signs were divided up into three orders by each parish (St. Martin, Iberia and St. Mary), Mile 00-23 for St. Martin Parish, 24-34 for Iberia Parish, and 35-55 for St. Mary Parish.
The entire project took 3 hours and 10 minutes of work time.
