New Orleans Boat Show set for this weekend, March 6-8

All major boat and outboard brands will be represented in Mercedes-Benz Superdome

The floor of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be packed with boats, motors and trailers when the New Orleans Boat Show kicks off Friday afternoon.

“The show is full. F-U-L-L. We are turning away vendors right now,” said Lionel Dowling, boat show director. “We’re very excited by it. We have almost 100 booths and they’re all full.

“It’s going to be the biggest and best show we’ve ever had.”

All major boat and outboard brands will be represented, along with lots of other extras, he said.

“The kayaks are back. We’ve got floating dock assemblies,” he said. “We’ve got food cookers, electronics, fishing guides, insurance companies and finance companies.”

You can literally choose your favorite boat and make a deal on the spot, Dowling said.

“You could actually come to the Boat Show, pick out the boat you like, and have it financed and insured before you leave the Dome,” he said. “All in one stop.”

Admission is $8 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Covered, secure parking at the Superdome is $10, he said.

Show hours are 3 – 9 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
