Mississippi River Reintroduction Into Northwest Barataria Basin

Description:

The goal of this project is to restore the natural hydrologic regime and add nutrients to adjacent swamp areas. The project will utilize a freshwater diversion/siphon from the Mississippi River to northwest Barataria Basin wetlands, with gapping of spoil banks and placement of culverts under LA Highway 20.
