Description:
The purpose of this project was to prevent the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from breaching into Blind Lake. The project consisted of placing 2,339 linear feet of limestone breakwater along the south side of the GIWW adjacent to Blind Lake. The second phase of this project included planting giant cutgrass (Zizaniopsis miliacea) along the inside of the breakwater to enhance the accretion process.
