Delta Building Diversion North of Fort St. Philip

Description:

This project is intended to reduce the loss of existing marsh in the 2,252-acre project area and enhance the integrity of the delta system. Project strategies included dredging a series of channel armor gaps that will be strategically located along the east descending bank of the Mississippi River in the vicinity of Fort St. Philip to divert sediment and nutrients to adjacent wetlands.
