White Ditch Resurrection and Outfall Management

State Project Number: BS-12
Project Priority List (PPL): 14
Federal Sponsor: Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)
Project Types: Freshwater Diversion, Outfall Management
Construction Completion Date: Pending

Description:

The goal of this project is to reduce the rate of marsh loss through the introduction of freshwater, nutrients, and sediment into interior marshes. This will be accomplished through the rehabilitation of the existing siphon at White Ditch and the installation of a second siphon of similar capacity. The project's proposed features also include installing a gated plug in the outfall channel approximately two miles below the siphon to allow water flow into the interior marshes.
