Bayou Chevee Shoreline Protection

Description:

The project is designed to protect currently exposed wetlands areas from erosive wave energy from Lake Pontchartrain, and to enhance the establishment of submerged aquatic vegetation in the ponds behind the rock dikes. This is accomplished by constructing a 2,870 linear-foot rock dike across the mouth of the north cove and a 2,820 linear-foot rock dike, tying into an existing USFWS rock dike, across the south cove.
