La. Mineral and Energy Board brings in $2.7 million in September Lease Sale

The State Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, September 11th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge. The Board collected over $2.7 million in bonus revenue for the state in the September lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $4.5 million.

 

At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 28 leases covering 6,825 acres, out of 51 nominated tracts covering more than 64,044 acres.

 

The Board sold leases in Caddo, Cameron, Jefferson, Lafourche, Plaquemines, Rapides, St. Helena, St. James, Tensas and Terrebonne parishes.
