State Mineral Lease Sale for month of April brings $1.8 million

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, April 9th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $1.8 million in bonus revenue for the state in the April lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2013-14 total collected to over $16.5 million.

 

At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 32 leases covering 3,851 acres, out of 44 nominated tracts covering more than 29,698 acres.

 

The Board sold leases in Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Catahoula, Concordia, Iberia, Iberville, Lafourche, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. James, St. Martin and Vernon parishes.
