State Mineral and Energy Board holds August Lease Sale

Baton Rouge-The La. Mineral and Energy Board conducted its monthly meeting and lease sale Wednesday, August 13^th in the LaBelle Room of the LaSalle Office Building in Baton Rouge.

The Board collected $951,605.65 in bonus revenue for the state in the August lease sale, bringing the Fiscal Year 2014-15 total collected to $2.4 million. At this month’s lease sale, the Board awarded 24 leases covering 2,806 acres, out of 35 nominated tracts covering more than 24,438 acres. In the last fiscal year, the board collected a total of $18.3 million in state revenue.

The Board sold leases in Avoyelles, Caddo, Concordia, East Feliciana, Lafourche, Plaquemines, St. Helena, Terrebonne parishes.
