The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources’ Office of Conservation will host a presentation
for a small group of engineers and oil regulators of the Nigerian Department of Petroleum Resources.
Commissioner of Conservation Jim Welsh said the Nigerian officials are particularly interested
in learning more about how salt water disposal wells are designed and regulated. Welsh said he
was contacted by ChevronTexaco representatives that have scheduled activities for the visiting
government group.
The commissioner said that his office will offer information on exploration and production waste
handling and disposal and will have a question-answer exchange to assist the Nigerians. |
