Mineral Board Recognizes Top Oil and Gas Producers

Louisiana Mineral Board Secretary Marjorie McKeithen recently presented a Secretary’s Appreciation Award to McMoRan Oil and Gas, LLC President Glen Kleinert and General Counsel John Amato during a special recognition luncheon held March 2nd at the company’s New Orleans office.

McKeithen and Mineral Board members Paul West, Carol LeBlanc, Bradley Becnel, and Clyde Kimball participated in a presentation to over 30 oil and gas industry executives.

McMoRan has been a top industry leader in the state for over ten years. The company has also, earlier this year, reported discoveries of two deep wells in south Louisiana and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico.

The state Department of Natural Resources and members of the Mineral Board have been meeting with energy sector representatives in recent months to promote better business relations and to attract new growth in this area of the state’s economy.
