Benjy Rayburn

Assistant Commissioner

 

Mr. Benjy Rayburn was appointed to the position of over the Office of Agro-Consumer Services in April 2006.

 

Born and raised in Bogalusa; attended Bogalusa High School.  Attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business in 1989.

 

Married Michelle Mizell of Bogalusa.  They have two children, Matthew and Zachary.

 

Began working for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry in July 1990 as an Agricultural Environmental Specialist.

 

Attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and earned a Master of Science in Agronomy in 1996.

 

Served as the Assistant Director of Seed Programs for the Department of Agriculture & Forestry from 1992 until 2001.

 

Served as the Director of Weights and Measures for the Department of Agriculture & Forestry from 2002 until 2006.

 

Member of: National Conference on Weights and Measures and Southern Weights and Measures Association.
