The Web site of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources has been designed for optimal viewing by a wide audience. Graphics are provided to enhance viewability, identification of user location within the Web site map, and overall ease of navigation. DNR's static Web pages include text, graphics, tables, forms, and JavaScripts which require a browser of the kind/quality/equivalence of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 (or above) or Netscape Navigator 4 (or above) for proper viewing. DNR also delivers dynamic Web pages via SONRIS. Database access applications in SONRIS utilize sophisticated Java Applets that require an Internet connection of 56K or higher for proper operation. Also, to access SONRIS Oracle database applications, you will have to download the free JInitiator browser add-on, and for SONRIS document access applications you will have to download the free FileNet Panagon IDM Viewer. Each will be downloaded to your PC from a DNR Web server upon your first usage of those components. Internally, for SONRIS application development and usage, the Department of Natural Resources utilizes Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, available as a free download from Microsoft Corporation's IE 5 Download Web site. DNR recommends Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 for optimal usage of SONRIS applications.
