Pursuant to provisions of the laws of the State of Louisiana and particularly Title 30 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 as amended, and provisions of Statewide Order 29 M (LAC 43:XVII, Subpart 3), notice is hereby given that the Commissioner of Conservation will conduct a public hearing at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, June 9, 2011. The hearing will be held in the Evangeline Parish Police Jury Meeting Room, Suite 207, located at 200 Court Street, Ville Platte, LA, 70586.
At such hearing, the Commissioner or his designated representative will give any interested person the opportunity to present testimony, facts, or oral or written comments relative to a draft permit (Order) concerning the application from Pine Prairie Energy Center, LLC (Pine Prairie) of 333 Clay Street, Suite 1300, Houston, TX, 77002 to convert one existing Class III brine extraction (solution mining) well to a Class II hydrocarbon (natural gas) storage well into the same existing salt cavern at the Pine Prairie Salt Dome and to establish an Area Permit for future storage wells at its Hydrocarbon Storage Facility in Sections 035 and 036, Township 03 South, Range 001 West near Ville Platte, Evangeline Parish.
The proposed conversion well is identified as PP-CW Well No. 004 (SN 973724). Hydrocarbon (natural gas) storage is proposed to occur initially at a depth of 4,367 feet below ground level (bgl). The base of the lowermost underground source of drinking water at the near by well location occurs at an approximate depth of 222 feet bgl.

Written comments concerning the application must be received by the Office of Conservation no later than 4:30 P.M., June 10, 2011. Submit all comments to: Joseph S. The application is available for inspection between 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday in the Injection & Mining Division Office, Rm. 817, of the LaSalle Building, 617 North 3rd Street, Baton Rouge, LA. A copy of the application is also available at the Evangeline Parish Public Library located at 242 W. Main Street, Ville Platte, Louisiana 70586.
All persons having interest in the aforesaid shall take notice thereof.
