Solar Facility Rulemaking | Department of Energy and Natural Resources

DENR is proposing the adoption of LAC 43:I.5101-5121. The proposed rule requires permits to construct and operate certain solar power generation facilities and establishes regulations governing the decommissioning and required financial security of such facilities.

DENR has received multiple requests for an extension of the January 21, 2025 deadline to submit public comments on its proposed regulations governing solar power generation facilities.

To accommodate these requests, DENR is extending the deadline to submit written comments to Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. Interested persons and members of the public may submit written comments on the proposed rule to Morgan Rogers, Attorney, Office of the Secretary, Department of Energy and Natural Resources, 617 North Third Street, 12th Floor, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 or via email to dnrsolarreg@la.gov.

A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Griffon Room, located on the first floor of the LaSalle Building, 617 North Third Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802

DENR anticipates the proposed effective date for these rules will be on or after April 20, 2025
