DNR plans La. Oil and Gas Conference in August

The Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will hold its annual education and training seminar- Louisiana Oil & Gas: From SONRIS to Sunset in New Orleans at the Roosevelt Hotel on August 28-30, 2013.
 
Oil and gas operators, business and industry professionals, and those interested in a variety of related topics should not miss this opportunity to get updates from DNR and other state regulatory agencies.
 
Continuing education credit opportunities will be available for attorneys in Texas and Louisiana, as well as for engineers and land men. Sessions on mineral royalty and production reporting will be offered, and informational classes will be held by the departments of Wildlife and Fisheries and Environmental Quality.
 
The two and a half day conference provides instructions on the easy-use and access of the state's online oil and gas records and forms database, known as DNR SONRIS, www.sonris.com

 
This year’s featured speakers will be Tulane University’s Peter Ricchiuti, Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association President Chris John, and La. Oil and Gas Association President Don Briggs.
 
DNR Secretary Stephen Chustz said, “The Department of Natural Resources works continuously to improve the efficiency of our online systems and services, and to ensure that regulatory programs are keeping pace with the most up-to-date science and industry practices. This conference provides an opportunity for attendees to keep current on what’s changing and interact directly with the staff who maintain the systems and manage the programs.”
 
Registration for the seminar is $400 per participant and includes meals, courses, speakers and activities. Pre-conference tours of New Orleans are offered on Aug. 27.
